Vision for a Cycle City: Local Initiatives and Policy Thinking

Birendranagar, capital city of Karnali Province is aiming to become a bicycle-friendly city.

Provincial government has initiated a bicycle and pedestrian friendly path. A feasibility study for bicycle city plan has been done in 2019. COVID19 has halted some important initiatives but is has come up with several opportunities and hopes. There’s a growing bicycle-activities observed in recent days and likelihood of bicycle use by the people of different walks of life is increased. In this session, we’ll bring riders, local people, doctors, municipal authorities and provincial government to discuss successes,challenges and plans. This will help sharing best practices to the world, increase understandings and promote accountability.
